Our Story
Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Lubbock, Masked Rider Capital is a Texas-based private investment firm with more than 35 active investments. What began with a single commercial property has grown into a diversified portfolio spanning private equity, specialty finance, real estate, and growth capital.
Our firm partners with entrepreneurs, developers, and established businesses to provide flexible equity and finance solutions across the Southern U.S. Guided by integrity, ingenuity, and collaboration, we invest in people and ideas that create long-term value.

Dustin R. Womble
Founder
Dustin R. Womble
Dustin R. Womble is a Founder and an owner of Masked Rider Capital Holdings (MRCH) and serves as a visionary for the firm with decades of executive leadership and business expertise from time spent developing his technology company into a multi-billion dollar publicly traded enterprise.
Mr. Womble began his career in 1980 when he founded Interactive Computer Designs (“INCODE”), a provider of software products and related services principally for county and city governments. He grew INCODE from a sole proprietorship to a $6 million national enterprise before merging it with two other companies in the reformation of Tyler Technologies (NYSE: TYL) in 1998. At that time, he joined the company as executive vice president.
During his time at Tyler Technologies, Mr. Womble was responsible for product strategy at the corporate level and served as president of two different divisions of the company. Under his leadership, Tyler grew to a market cap greater than $22B with more than 9,000 employees. He retired from Tyler in 2016 and completed his service on the Board of Directors in 2024.
Mr. Womble is the Chairman of the Board for Metallenium, LLC, a privately held equipment leasing company that provides contract compression services throughout the Permian Basin. He also has active roles in the leadership of several local businesses, including Carizma Motors, LLC, a BHPH used car business, and TRUNO, a national provider of grocery point-of-sale solutions. Additionally, he has served on the board of directors for Lubbock Christian School for more than
a decade.
Mr. Womble was appointed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott to the Board of Regents for the Texas Tech University System in 2019 and was reappointed in 2025. Currently, he serves on the board as Chairman of the Facilities Committee. Previous recognitions from Texas Tech include the Texas Tech University Rawls College of Business Advisory Council and membership on the executive committee of the Texas Tech Foundation. In October of 2021, Mr. Womble made the largest donation to Texas Tech Athletics, at that time, with a $20MM lead gift for a new football training facility, the Dustin R. Womble Football Center. This gift and a previous donation to the Dustin R. Womble Basketball Center made him the largest lifetime individual donor to the Texas Tech Athletic Department to date.
A lifelong supporter of Texas Tech, Mr. Womble earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in management information systems from Texas Tech University in 1981.
Since 1977, Mr. Womble and his wife, Leisha, have called Lubbock home. The Womble family includes three daughters, Brooke, Brianne, and Alyssa, as well as three sons, Blake, Brett, and Luke. Mr. Womble’s most cherished role is being a grandfather to his ten grandchildren.
Jeff Horn
Founder & CEO
Jeff R. Horn
Jeff is an experienced entrepreneur and business leader with a diverse background in finance, technology, and executive leadership. He co-founded Masked Rider Capital Holdings (MRCH), a dynamic investment and holding company, with Dustin R. Womble in 2012. In his role as an owner and CEO, Jeff provides strategic growth initiatives for the firm and drives MRC’s vision to achieve sustainable success.
He also serves on the board of directors for several West Texas companies, including Carizma Motors, LLC, 7Crew Enterprises, Masked Rider Capital, and Masked Rider Energy.
Before dedicating his expertise to the Masked Rider Capital companies, Jeff served as the President and CEO of Benchmark Business Solutions, a Xerox authorized dealer. Under his leadership, Benchmark evolved into one of the largest independent Xerox dealers in the country within a decade. For four out of five years, between 2013 and 2017, Jeff’s team ranked as the No. 1 Xerox dealer in the country. During this time, Benchmark expanded its operations, adding a leasing company and achieving a remarkable 500% growth. After Benchmark was successfully sold to Visual Edge in 2017, Jeff was promoted to Regional President and served in this position from 2018 to 2020.
Prior to his tenure at Benchmark, Jeff amassed 14 years of invaluable experience within the finance, banking, and technology sectors, establishing a strong foundation for his leadership roles at Benchmark and Masked Rider Capital.
Jeff’s commitment to his community is evident through his extensive civic involvement. Recently, Jeff completed a six-year term on the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He is a former recipient of the “Top 20 Under 40 Award” presented by the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Board in recognition of his outstanding contributions. He also served as a board member for Metallenium from 2021 to 2024. Jeff demonstrated his leadership abilities as the Chairman for the March of Dimes March for Babies in 2016. Additionally, he is an avid sports fan and appreciates the role sports play in developing our youth; to provide more opportunities for the area, Jeff founded the Lubbock Raider Youth Baseball Club in 2005.
His academic background includes studies in finance and marketing at Texas Tech University and Abilene Christian University. During Jeff’s time at Abilene Christian University, he played football and baseball.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Jeff and his wife Kari enjoy time with their three wonderful children: Tucker, Raider, and Welker.
Brooke Hobgood, MD
President & COO
Brooke Hobgood, MD
Dr. Brooke Hobgood is an owner and serves as President and Chief Operating Officer for Masked Rider Capital Holdings (MRCH), bringing more than a decade of expertise in leadership and business to the company. Her role consists of managing the day-to-day operations and casting a long-term vision for the private equity investment firm.
Board-certified in anesthesiology, Dr. Hobgood served as the medical director for Lubbock Plastic Surgery Center before joining MRCH. She was responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures compliant with the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities to ensure patient safety during her time as medical director. Her passion was centered around delivering innovative, excellent patient care while maintaining operating room efficiency.
She continues to be involved in the medical field as a founder of Ivy Specialty Compounding, a local compounding and retail pharmacy. The company is committed to providing efficient, client-centered services to optimize a patient’s pharmaceutical experience. Dr. Hobgood provides strategic decisions and implements streamlined processes to provide exceptional service based on both prescribers’ and clients’ needs.
Dr. Hobgood was recently invited to serve as a Director for the Texas Lyceum, a nonprofit cultivating the next generation of leaders by engaging in thoughtful discussion surrounding the current issues facing the great state of Texas. She also serves as the Chair-Elect for the Board of Trustees at Lubbock Christian School where she places an emphasis on the role education plays in the personal and professional development of this next generation. She provides insight from her professional experience to enhance the business community by also serving on the Board of Directors for both Carizma Motors and Metallenium, LLC.
Dr. Hobgood completed her residency in anesthesiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after graduating with honors from Baylor University School of Medicine in 2008. Before medical school, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Pepperdine University.
Together, she and her husband, Wes, live in Lubbock with their three children.
Terry Wright
General Counsel
Terry Wright
Terry has 25 years of legal experience and is a shareholder in the law firm of Hund, Krier, Wilkerson & Wright, P.C. His legal career has centered around the following transactional areas: mergers and acquisitions, business formations, estate planning, estate and trust administration, taxation, and real property. Terry is a licensed attorney and board certified in Tax Law and Estate Planning and Probate Law. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Terry received a J.D. from the Texas Tech University School of Law and a B.B.A. (Accounting) and M.S.A. (Taxation) from the Texas Tech University College of Business Administration.
Throughout the last 25 years, he has served as an officer and on various boards for civic organizations and participated in various professional organizations in Lubbock.
Michael Mills

Michael Mills
Michael brings more than 35 years of finance and operations management experience to Masked Rider Capital. As an accomplished corporate finance and operations executive, he excels in identifying strategic solutions designed to accelerate corporate growth and value. With deep subject matter knowledge, keen business savvy, and an agile management style, Michael has spent his career delivering superlative results in key financial performance areas. Michael possesses substantial experience in private equity funding, corporate turnarounds, organizational leadership, and process improvement, leading to an impressive record of exponential growth in corporate value under his management.
Prior to joining MRC in 2023, Michael spent five years at Visual Edge IT. As Chief Financial Officer, he was responsible for guiding the company through the COVID-19 pandemic and leading its transition from a print to a managed services company. Michael possesses an extremely strong foundation in acquisitions and profitability management, which he built by working for over 35 years with multiple document management and technology companies.
Trey Thomason
Chief Investment Officer
Trey Thomason
Trey joined Masked Rider Capital in 2022 as the Chief Investment Officer and is responsible for managing and growing Masked Rider Capital’s investment portfolio. Trey has over 17 years of investment analysis, acquisitions, structuring, and management experience of over $750 million in assets.
Prior to joining MRC, Trey served as Chief Executive Officer of Curis Capital, an Irving, TX based real estate company focused on acquiring and repositioning senior housing properties. Trey’s experience also includes serving as Executive Vice President of Meridian Realty Advisors, a real estate and private equity investment, development, and management company in Dallas. At Meridian he sourced debt and equity capital while overseeing the development of more than $300 million in new projects. Trey also served as the Head of Acquisition and Asset Management for Spire Realty Group. During Trey’s time at Spire, he was responsible for overseeing $400 million in investments including the acquisition of Chase Tower in Austin, TX.
Trey earned his Master of Business Administration with a concentration on Investment Finance from Southern Methodist University and Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University.
Austin Adkins, CPL
CEO, Masked Rider Energy
Austin Adkins
Austin has more than 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Most recently, Austin served as Land Manager for Diamondback Energy where he oversaw all Midland Basin operations. In his role, Austin was responsible for leading the company’s Land Team.
Prior to joining Diamondback, Austin worked as a Landman for Apache Corporation, carrying out land responsibilities within the Eagleford Shale and the Permian Basin. Austin has managed surface and mineral interests in more than 35 counties and three major plays – The Eagleford Shale, the Anadarko Basin, and the Permian Basin.
Over his career, Austin has directly managed all mineral land aspects for the drilling of over 200 vertical and horizontal wells, negotiated and executed over $200 million in A&D transactions, and was actively involved in the due diligence process and integration of over $14 billion in M&A activity. These efforts spanned land affairs across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and sovereign tribal lands.
Austin earned dual degrees from Texas Tech University – a Bachelor of Business Administration in Energy Commerce and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management. He has also earned the designation of Certified Professional Landman (CPL).
Areace Mason
Executive Assistant
Areace Mason
Areace has over 37 years of experience in the financial services sector and has held increasingly responsible positions in the industry from cashier to branch systems administrator. Most recently, she served as senior client associate/assistant Vice President with Wells Fargo Advisors where she was nominated by leadership to serve on the Client Associate Advisory Council.
Prior to her work at Wells Fargo Advisors, Areace was Operations Manager with Wachovia Securities (previously known as A. G. Edwards & Sons, Inc.) In September 2022, Areace join Masked Rider Capital as Executive Assistant where her skills and knowledge are focused on delivering an exceptional level of personalized service to all clients. Areace’s areas of expertise include managing the client service experience; coordinating client service activity, monitoring administration as it relates to client accounts and regulatory compliance, assessing risk management, and supporting sales and operations.
She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Marketing at West Texas A&M University in 1983.
Kaitlyn Barry
Controller
Kaitlyn Barry
Kaitlyn joins Masked Rider Capital as a Controller with 10 years of experience in Accounting, Tax Preparation, Marketing, and Operations.
Prior to joining MRC, Kaitlyn was the Chief Financial Officer for National Storage Solutions Management (NSSM). During her time at NSSM, Kaitlyn was responsible for investor relations, end of year close, monthly, quarterly, and yearly financials for multiple entities within NSSM and their investors. She is also experienced in small individual and business tax preparation and filing, monthly financial preparation for sales tax filings and registering agent filings.
Kaitlyn is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Texas Society of CPAs.
Kaitlyn earned her Master of Science in Tax Accounting from Texas Tech University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Texas Tech University.
Jake Zouzalik
General Counsel Associate
Jake Zouzalik
Jake Zouzalik started with Masked Rider Capital in 2024 as a General Counsel Associate. In his position, he practices transactional law with a concentration in mergers and acquisitions, contracts, and real estate.
A Red Raider through and through, he graduated with honors from Texas Tech University’s Rawls College of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance in 2021. Jake attended Texas Tech University’s School of Law and graduated with his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2024; he passed the State Bar of Texas in October 2024.
Jake was awarded the top grade in mergers and acquisitions as well as a distinction in constitutional law while in law school. He competed in 2L Advanced Negotiations Competitions and was selected as the Octa Finalist and Best Oralist. He was also a member of an energy law interest group and business law association.
His clerkships during law school include experience with the Honorable Chief Justice Brian Quinn of the Seventh Court of Appeals as well as with the law offices of Field Manning Stone and Aycock P.C., where he practiced estate planning and transactional work. His final internship before graduating was with MRC in 2023.
Jake is a dedicated sports fan and rarely misses a Texas Tech sporting event with his wife, Autumn. Jake and Autumn share a love for their hometown and a commitment to serving others as college group leaders at Southcrest Baptist Church.
Autumn Zouzalik
Financial Analyst
Autumn Zouzalik
Autumn Zouzalik graduated with honors from Texas Tech University’s Rawls College of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance in 2021 and Master of Science in Finance in 2022. She joined the team at Masked Rider Capital as a Financial Analyst in 2024.
In her role, she develops and maintains financial models for various investments and analyzes financial data to identify trends and variances for operational improvements.
Autumn worked for American Bank of Commerce as a financial underwriter for commercial real estate transactions, C&I Loans, Factoring Participations, and Syndication Loans prior to starting at MRC.
Born and raised in Lubbock, she is passionate about serving her community. Autumn is a graduate of Leadership Lubbock and a former United Way campaign coordinator. She also serves as a board member for South Plains Fellowship of Christian Athletes supporting both the high school and Texas Tech chapters in fundraising and volunteer opportunities.
Autumn is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys attending all Texas Tech sporting events with her husband, Jake. The couple, who were married in 2022, attend Southcrest Baptist Church, where Autumn sings on the worship team; together, they serve as college group leaders.
Jennifer Henry
Staff Accountant
Jennifer Allen
Jennifer Allen serves as a Staff Accountant for Masked Rider Capital. In her position, she manages accounts payable and maintains accurate company data records. Her drive comes from developing a seamless process to enable real-time, precise decision making.
She attended Tarleton State University and received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 1992. After graduating, Jennifer received a secondary mathematics teaching certification and taught junior high and high school math at both Lubbock-Cooper ISD and Anton ISD.
Her work experience includes time as a mathematics instructor at Bridges Learning Center. From 2007-2018, Jennifer was in procurement and sales administration with Mandry Technology. She continued her professional career with Visual Edge Technology as the accounts receivable and billing regional manager. At the end of 2023 to early 2024, Jennifer worked as a senior accountant for Plains Cotton Cooperative Association until she joined the team at MRC.
Jenn Hurley

Jenn Harrison
Jenn Harrison is the Administrative Assistant at Masked Rider Capital. A native West Texan, she is the epitome of Southern hospitality and creates a welcoming atmosphere at MRC. Her role includes the day-to-day operational needs of the office as well as administrative duties.
She graduated from Lubbock Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies in Early Childhood Education. Jennifer taught 1st and 3rd Grade with Frenship ISD for seven years. She decided to pursue a career with MRC because of the collaborative culture and professional opportunities.
Outside of the office, Jennifer loves reading and traveling to visit her sister in Fort Worth.
Katherine White
Director of Marketing and Communications
Katherine White
Katherine serves as Director of Marketing and Communications for Masked Rider Capital. In her position, she is responsible for developing and overseeing the firm’s marketing and communication strategies. She aligns content and communications with the firm’s mission and objectives, upholding the marketing and branding standards of MRC.
She is a proud Red Raider. Katherine graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Texas Tech University in 2012 and proceeded to receive a Master of Arts in Mass Communication from Texas Tech’s College of Media & Communication in 2013.
Before joining the MRC team in February 2025, she started her career in marketing at Visit Lubbock, the convention and visitor bureau, in a sales position recruiting conferences and meetings to Lubbock. She transitioned to a media relations and communications role where she created content and generated publicity for the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA) and Visit Lubbock. In fall 2020, she was named director of marketing and communications for LEDA and Visit Lubbock; she led a team of marketing professionals and third-party agencies to strategize and execute marketing tactics for economic development and destination marketing initiatives.
Katherine is married to a fellow Red Raider and Lubbock native, Barclay White. Together, they have a daughter, Blakely, and a son, Parker. As a family, they enjoy traveling to the mountains in Colorado and cheering on Texas Tech at sporting events.
